How Your Hands are Filled?

This story has a lot of meaning for me.

This little boy goes along with his mother to a shop. The mother with her grocery list asks for all the items one by one from the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper packs the items as per her list.

While the mother was busy, the little boy was looking at the shop at things that attracted him.

When the list got over, the mother asked the little boy to come along and move towards the home. When they were about to move, the man in the shop offered some candies to the boy. But the little boy refused.

When he looked at his mother, even she allowed him to take the candies but the little boy still felt hesitant.

The man then picked up the little boy in his lap and asked him to takeout candies from the box. The boy did not. Then, the man himself took out the candies from the box and handed over to the boy.

He had more in his hands than he could hold. He thanked the shopkeeper and then started moving happily towards his home with his mother.

The mother then inquisitively asked the little boy why he did not take the candies even when she nodded him to do so. The little boy then replied and answered. Mother, since my hands were small, I could not have taken out ample of toffees as that uncle offered to me. I decided, not to take on my own but to allow the uncle to handover to me.

He offered me more than what I could have taken on my own.

In life as well, at times, we want things in our own way and sometimes ask for too little. But when we leave up to him, the almighty, he gives us more than what we could have imagined.

So, if possible, be like that little boy. If you do not get what you want, be patient, be calm and then see what comes in your hands. See what the Lord offers to you and fills your hand.

Wish you all a wonderful day ahead!

God bless!
