That Mountain.
Lore says he, Krishna, on his one finger balanced the mountain and protected all villagers from torrential rain and flood, that would have otherwise carried everyone. Rain symbolized that external force that seems mightier than us and has power to destroy us. Mountain, that counterforce from nature that has the power to protect us.
Krishna through this Leela depicts his power to protect and save ourselves from any force that might seem mightier, be it external or internal, by inner strength of love, compassion, courage and intellect.
Today, after Rama’s homecoming on Deepawali, we celebrate Krishna’s Leela of uplifting Govardhan.
We worship Govardahan and Krishna today.
We worship compassion and love today.
We realize Krishna’s consciousness today.
We offer our gratitude to Krishna today.
We celebrate Krishna’s Leela today.
We pray to Krishna.
We bow to Krishna.
Krishna.
Krishna in you and me.
