“In the silence you can listen to the yearning of your soul, let the noise by your side settle, let the voices in the head settle by letting go of the thoughts, they are all temporary and do not define you, they are just a part of you, a part of your self and nothing, just don’t identity, keep moving, keep moving and you shall know a self of yours unknown to you– know that!”
Sleep was overpowering him, there was an urge to reach to the river, it was just few miles away, a step at a time, his body was giving up, not listening, not under any control, yet he kept moving.
When he closed his eyes, the very sense of his body started disappearing. He couldn’t understand the dimensions of his physical self, although, everyday he was told: “He is not the mind, he is not the body, he is beyond that.” He felt that. He felt he could experience that. He kept moving.
From a completely restless being, he was now placidly moving onto the terrains, crossing the zig zag routes in the valleys, steep climbing, witnessing nature’s bounties, curling ribbons of birds flying, shades of clouds all floating by his side, joining him in his journey.
And then he saw the river. There was a new wave of zeal that rushed within him. He ran fast and fell. Stood up again and then ran fast, as fast as he could and then– just threw his body by the river side.
He could see the trail of pebbles arranged in perfect order where little sparkling colourful fish were swimming, onto a nearby rock he saw a swan standing in a perfect one legged posture, focusing on the bait.
Breathless, yet still, he noticed the uninterruptible flow of the river, lashing against the stones, smashing and striking against the rocks, musical, their melody was lyrical. Their song was so loud that he couldn’t listen to his own voices in the head.
Then suddenly his eyes looked at the moss and the algae that made the perfect velvet carpet beneath the round and oval pebbles of varied sizes and shapes. He picked them one by one. Segregated the same sized pebbles and put them into his pouch. When filled, they all were talking to him as if.
The vastness of the river was reflecting in his own limitlessness, his unlimited powers stored within himself, unknown to him, unseen to him, yet gradually unfurling before him.
This cosmic scenery suddenly striked on his consciousness and he felt an immediate oneness with the outer and the inner. The waves in the water were making him realize his true nature, a drop and he being the complete river and the ocean.
He wrote in the sand by the river side:
You have to endure through the dark and the light shall unveil when the time comes.
And then– the wave came and washed it off!
Yes, we have to endure through the dark and the light shall unveil when the time comes.
Very true! Just loved each and every word and the way you have articulated it Pratibha ❤ This is what we have to do…just keep moving and moving.
My love and prayers for you today and forever!
