Along with this, I thought to share few facts, enabling the readers to know, how proud they should be of their nation on this day. There is nothing startling that I am going to share with you all. It is just the spirit of being independent and being a citizen of this nation which propelled me to write this Guest post.
Today is India’s 68th Republic Day. Congratulations to all! We have travelled too far.
This is the day, on which the Constitution of India came into force, in January of 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India.
This day also honours the pledge of “PURNA SWARAJ” (Independence Celebration by Indians).
But my dear friends let me ask, do we all understand the meaning of Purna Swaraj?
I relate it and understand it with the poem by Rabindra Nath Tagore. I would be happy to know, how do you relate to it?
Where The Mind Is Without Fear
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
So, when the nation is celebrating this day by watching the ceremonious parade at the Rajpath, New Delhi and the environment is filled with the sound of National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana,” I ask you again, how do you relish and feel being truly independent?
Take your time, think and then celebrate this day. Before I leave let me do this.
Once again, wish you all a very Happy Republic Day Friends!
“Jai Hind.”
