There is a new member in our family-a Bunny. Anvay is happy and so are we.
Bunny looks cute and innocent. But he is ignorant and scared as well. Ignorant of his natural self and abilities and scared of people and environment around him.
For many months he has lived into a cage where he has forgotten about his natural habitat of meadows, woods and forests. He feels and believes that cage is his home. Somehow, his limitations give him security and comfort. He doesn’t run and jump the way he should, he hides under the table and behind the bed.
Observing Bunny for three days, I feel that we too are like this Bunny in some ways. Forgetting our natural talents, skills, abilities and gifts with which we are born and blessed with, we get scared and insecure of people and environment around us. This Bunny seems to be another me, reminds me of another you.
His cage looks like our homes, systems, cast, colour, creed, gender and religion. I don’t know if it is better to be in our home, comfort zone, feeling safe and protected? Or it is important to move out of our comfort zone and face challenges?
Now all these terms are relative and have different connotations. A cage may feel like home and in home, some may feel like in incarceration. I am not into that discussion. My question is simple: why is it important to move out of our comfort zone?
Many congratulations ma’am for this new member.
Comfort zone restrict ourselves but moving out of the comfort zone results in greater improvements, achievements, learnings, creating memories, enjoying roller coaster and more importantly LIVING.
Thanks Prashant. Very well said. Living is important before dying and that is all we must do by pushing our boundary lines.
Unfortunately many of us become too comfortable and too scared to push even a bit. But I am happy to know your view.
Keep pushing yourself dear and be blessed always 🙂
Stepping out of your comfort zone means you’re heading for uncharted territory. You’re trying things that you’ve never tried before, and learning things you’ve never learned before.
Leaving your comfort zone isn’t easy, but with each action you take outside of your comfort zone, it expands. And once you master that new skill or action, it eventually
becomes part of your comfort zone
The goal in life is to continually challenge yourself, and continually improve yourself. And in order to do that, you have to move out of your comfort zone.
It’s never too late to start over. If you weren’t happy with yesterday, try something different today.
Don’t stay stuck. Do better.
Welcome Abbas, I am extremely happy to read your comment.
You have explained it so well. Trying out new things, exploring the untouched horizons of your life, learning new skills, visiting new places and finding new qualities inside your inner self are what we must to do on a regular basis, so that we ‘don’t stuck and do better’ everyday. Moving out of comfort zone is indeed important for our self growth and development. Thanks for connecting.
Keep smiling and be blessed always 🙂
Congrats once again for a new member in your family..
Comfort zone is the limit that most of us don’t want to cross because it serves us the most acquisitive pleasure on our life’s platter.
Our brain gets surrounded by those luxuries which prevents us from exploring ouselves, knowing our inner being and connecting to spirituality.
Instead of taking an action we believe better in pretending to do so…
The only method to surpass this fear of mind is to break the barriers ,dig out our limits and push it to the edge..
Lets make a promise to ourselves ~ will push our limits to such an extent
where our limit meets the limitless life.
Above all ~ when we have a mentor~leader like Pratibha ma’am , no such zone can prevent us from leading our life towards betterment..
Thanks Devanshu, I have welcomed the new member on your behalf.
You said is so right, ‘Let’s make a promise to ourselves ~ to push our limit to such an extent where our limit meets the limitless life.’ This self promise is important for all of us to make.
I am a learner like you all, trying out new things and fighting with me own fears.
Thanks for being a fellow-traveller in the journey and making it enjoyable with your presence.
Keep sharing, pushing your boundaries and stay blessed always 🙂
Once again congratulations for the well written thoughts. I would also like to congratulate you for your new role of editor. All the Best.
You said it right, we are all like this Bunny, scared of moving out of our comfort zone. We all have dreams right from the beginning of our life, we all have perfect plans to fulfill those dreams, but what most of us lack is the courage to move out of our comfort zone.
One of my friends shared a very nice thought on the social media, “Everything which we want in life is waiting for us outside our comfort zone”. I liked this thought very much and immediately printed it and clipped in front of my workstation.
I hope looking at the thought will constantly boost my courage to break my comfort zone.
Here I would like to share an incident for your readers. When I was in school, three alumni visited our school who at that time were working in USA. We were talking to them in the school garden about our future aspirations. A girl said, being a science student she is expected to think of becoming a doctor or an engineer only but she didn’t want to be one. Instead she wanted to become a teacher. The girl’s name is Pratibha Singh and all of us know how successfully she has achieved her dream.
Expectation with a science student to become a doctor or an engineer is a comfort zone very difficult to break and so with the students of other streams.
Students often waste their initial few years chasing “other’s” dreams and are tagged as losers at the end. Even if someone cracks the exams and becomes a doctor or an engineer (when he/she actually wanted to be a Guitarist), it is certain that he/she will always be under pressure of breaking the comfort zone to play a guitar (his real love).
I know it is hard to step out of the comfort zone, but it is the only way to be actually happy and feel completeness.
I hope the Bunny in all of us will soon identify his natural abilities and will start to jump and run and live.
Thanks a lot Inder for your best wishes. The new role is demanding a bit, but I am sure I will move out of my comfort zone.
Yes, you quoted it right that everything that we want in life is waiting for us out of our comfort zone and all we need to do is just to move inch by inch and take one step ahead at a time.
Thanks for reminding the good old school days and sharing it with the readers and what strikes me is how beautifully you remember the episode so well.
The bunny inside you has already taken the leap and I wish you all the very best. May you achieve all that you want.
