Wind Chimes

Sleep seem to have captivated him. His alarm was ringing and every time he snoozed. Despite self reminders, he couldn’t wake up. For the entire week his hectic schedule kept him occupied and fever of the last night made him feel extremely enervated.

A laziness and lethargy clutched him. He had a lot to do, for today, along with others, was the day for completion of his project.

His will was fading because of his inner resistance and high temperature. He decided to rest for sometime before going for his breakfast. His eyes then rested on wind chimes and window that allowed the breeze to synchronise its melody with bells. Coupled with chirping of birds, the ringing of bells felt to have analgesic effect on him. Pain lessened and he felt better, yet not ready to move.

Pallav came to enquire about day proceedings soon joined by Sanghaya and Rudraksh.

They too felt he should rest.

While discussing how to overcome the issues they all had been facing, they mutually decided to brood over it today. To postpone it later, they felt, this moment and time was right being in the room of Dorjee.

Breakfast was brought in. They ate together and after finishing, they decided to talk. Each listened with affection and respected each others point of view. Hours passed. 1, 2, 3 and 4, they kept discussing. Until it was time for lunch. Intensely involved in the discussions they were, that they decided to skip it.

Few more hours rolled and time got stagnated for them brooding over the issue. They all were hooked and tied to each other in this moment of resolution. Hours of talking and focused discussion gave panacea to them.

Dorjee felt much better in their company. Discussions kept him engrossed. His fever and body ache continued, however, their presence did not make him feel that. He felt happy and peaceful in their company.

While they couldn’t move to ground today, being in the room of Dorjee, brought them solution to their long persisting challenge and issue.

Relaxed and calm they all felt, enjoyed then they all, evening tea and light snacks in company of one another. After the dinner, they all retired to their beds after bidding adieu to Dorjee.

Dorjee finished his glass of water. Looked at his window and wind chimes again. A gush of breeze came again that made those chimes move with musical melody. He smiled. Bowed to them.

Slipped inside his blanket, for the night, he again. With eyes closed, he just focused on this breath. Wind chimes continued their melody.
