CREATE A MASTER PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE AND LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH PURPOSE

My friend admonished me to watch this movie called Wit. Not because it was too good a movie for me to watch, but because the movie showed death of an English Professor due to metastatic ovarian cancer and my father too was suffering from stage IV Esophageal Cancer at that time. In medical terms, he had Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

As expected, despite her feedback, I did watch that movie because inquisitiveness and curiosity of my own situation had taken over its toll. Alone I watched that movie and cried to see the suffering of the protagonist of the story. The first thing I did after watching that movie was prayer. I prayed that my father must not suffer as highlighted in the movie. My prayers were answered.

Papa passed away peacefully on November 2nd, 2013.  And this movie gave me these anchoring lines to remember by the famous Metaphysical English Poet, John Donne:

One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more, death, thou shalt die.

Definitely my father taught me the most important lessons of life, but his death even taught me more. When I look at the life of my father, I feel that he always lived his life with a deep purpose. And sometimes I even wonder, did he have some written mission statement and some guiding principles which guided him throughout his life? Because according to me he lived a very wealthy and successful life despite the multitude of hardships and challenges that he faced and surmounted in his life.

While his death forced me to think of fugitiveness of human existence, his life forced me to think of immortality of human soul. It dawned on me that we all have limited time and existence. How much time do we all have? That we do not know, what we know is that it differs from one person to another.

But in this limited time period between birth and death, called life, I am sure that you too like me, and many others, would want to live a wealthy, happy and content life, a life with a purpose, and a purpose that will make a significant difference to your life and life of your near and dear ones. A purpose which may even give you a new birth, even after your physical absence from the world.

So, if you fret and fume and complain that you face time crunch on everyday basis then know that you are not the only one. If you use a lots of ifs and buts and say that life is too short for you to fulfil your dreams then know, it is not that we have less time in life, but the truth is we waste a lot of time, as says Seneca in his essay “On the Shortness of Life”  which I recommend you read by following the link on the essay.

So, whether you are famous or not, whether you are rich or not, whether you believe it or not, you can always have a wealthy, fulfilling and meaningful life, if you live with a purpose in your life. And to live such a purposeful life, you need to have a master plan.

If you already have such master plan, then it sounds great but if you do not have one such, then I am going to share with you two important resources in today’s post.

First is an audio tape by Tony Robbins, my favorite author, whose voice will inject a new energy and enthusiasm inside you. Listen to it and extract juice out of it.

Got Purpose

Second is an e-book by Michael Hyatt which will provide you a step by step method to work on your life’s master plan.

Creating Your Personal Life Plan

Now what you have to do is this.

Take out some time from your busy schedule for your own self. Use any one of the three resources that I have linked in today’s post. After using one resource, move on to the next one. After exploring and analyzing all of them, take out time to design and create your own master plan for your life in days to come.

Remember that things will go wrong and many challenges will come in your life every now and then, but if you have your purpose in life clear, you will be able to navigate successfully through the toughest of times with your master plan written well in advance.

And yes.

If you have time in coming weekend, you could also enjoy watching this movie, Wit, by following the link given below:

Have happy learning hours!

    Thank you di 🙂

Master plan is the basic requirement in one’s life.
I know the purpose and the aim for which I am born or my soul came into existence but I will listen to that audio clips , I’ll read that e-book to ensure if my practice to complete the purpose fulfis the requirement or does it lack something.

      Many thanks Devanshu!
I feel happy to see the confidence in your tone! I am happy that you are among one of those few who have clarity of thought and purpose at such a younger age.
We all know that certain things remain the same and certain things undergo change but we have purpose and plan in place, these can give us direction in the times when things go different from what we expected.
But as suggested read the essay, listen to the audio tape and read the book provided in the above post and I am sure that these will give you more clarity on deciding the way forward in your life. My best wishes are always with you, stay blessed always.

  • I found this one the most attracting post.
I am still in the process to define my purpose of Life but still i get failure somewhere and unable to focus on the same. Sometimes, i feel like ,i have got a Dream which I would like to make it come true one day. for e.g. to have my own Restaurant but not able to work upon it etc. and then i like like ..ok..may be in future, when i’ll have the money then only can start thinking and working on the same.

    • Pratibha says:

      Thanks Radhika!
Take time to work on your dreams. What you call as failure, is nothing but the most important lesson of your life. Treasure them and make them as your stepping stones to success. It is good to hear from you about your dream, I am sure that one day you will be owner of one of the most successful Restaurants in the Country. Dream Big. But take the smallest step everyday so that you move towards your dream. Remember that journey of a thousand mile begins from a one step. Take that step with faith and results will follow soon. Be patient.
Start the things with minimum of investments. Be in contact with the people from your own field so that you get constant mentoring and coaching from them.
You can do whatever you want just believe in yourself and take the first step with faith! My best wishes are always with you!

We were created on purpose for a purpose. There is a
thirst and hunger in our heart that is real. There are going to be many setbacks in life ( I am getting taste of the setbacks) but we have to move forward with our master plans.

I have found my purpose in my life and now I am even ready to die for it. The game has just begun and many thanks mam for motivating us by your insightful posts 🙂

    • Pratibha says:

Well said Mohit. We all are created on purpose with a purpose. Once we know that purpose, we can confront all the setbacks and challenges in our life.
Taste the setbacks and I know you have the attitude to learn best from them.
I could sense that your are now ready to make ‘the dent in the universe’ and in the journey you will discover and reinvent yourself on day to day basis for sure.
In fact, after connecting with you all, I must say that I feel inspired and motivated everyday. So stay in touch always. My best wishes are always with you and I am waiting for your products to be launched soon!

  • Anuj says:

Thank you, thank you & thank you…. 🙂 for another nice post!!

Purpose… itself is a healthy word.
Anyone in this universe, even if he/she haven’t yet defined purpose of life, does everything with a purpose (or I call it as selfishness) . We have a reason for whatever we do in our routine life; e.g. work for money, eat for body, walk to go somewhere etc. So, if we can have purpose for such tiny things then why don’t we have it for our life…?
I recommend to prepare a Dream Book, fill it with own desires, objectives and dreams… this will help to know ourself. This will help us to define goal for our life, we may divide goals in different categories…. note everything in Dream Book; and all these little desires, objectives, dreams would come together to give you a purpose.. Keep monitoring & we would get immense satisfaction during the whole journey and we would know what exactly are we doing and why…

    Cheers..!!

    • Pratibha says:

      WOW.
Many thanks for joining the platform and recommending powerful ideas and thoughts once again 🙂
Yes, I agree with you that whatever we do, we always have some motives and purpose behind our each act. You rightly called is selfishness and I would say that those who say that they do selfless service, somewhere their inner-self also gets satisfaction in doing that task, so in a way we all turn out to be selfish. Just if we could understand and use this term in the right perspective, things could sound better. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.” So in this way, by helping others, we help ourselves.
Many thanks for recommending the powerful idea of creating a dream book. In fact, I would like to add, if with this dream book, we could also combine the power of visualization, together the results could be greater and wonderful. And thank you for giving a topic for writing a blog post. I think others could benefit a lot from this idea, if I write on this topic.
Many thanks again. Stay connected, be blessed always and cheers to us all!! 🙂

  • Abhijeet says:

Thank you ma’am for such great post. You are right there should be master plan for the purposeful life. 🙂

    • Pratibha says:

Many thanks Abhijeet. Unfortunately most of us get so much involved either in our career or in our personal life that we forget about the other important areas of our life and therefore, if we have a master plan, we could definitely keep all the areas of life in perspective and can enjoy life to its fullest extent without missing the crux of the life.
